Geodetic CRS: JGD2024
Datum: Japanese Geodetic Datum 2024
Ellipsoid: GRS 1980
Prime meridian: Greenwich
Data source: EPSG
Information source: Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) "Update to the Geoid-based vertical datum", August 21, 2025, https://www.gsi.go.jp/sokuchikijun/geoid-based_datum.html
Revision date: 2026-04-21
Scope: Derivation of gravity-related heights from GNSS observations.
Remarks: Model JPGEO2024 is the JGEOID2024 model adjusted to mean sea level Tokyo Bay. The JPGEO2024 model defines JGD2024 (vertical) at epoch 2024.415 whilst the Survey Act specifies JGD2024 geodetic CRS epoch 2011.395. For adherence to the Survey Act and related regulations, use concatenated operation JGD2024 to JGD2024 (vertical) height (2) (code 11441). Use JPGEO2024 (this record) for derivation of JGD2024 (vertical) gravity-related height at survey epoch. Use JGEOID2024 for scientific purposes. Although the JPGEO2024 model defines the JGD2024 (vertical) surface, an operation accuracy with an arbitary value of 5cm has been assigned to allow for deformation between these epochs. For reversible alternative to this transformation see JGD2024 to JGD2024 + JGD2024 (vertical) height (1) (CT code 11335).
Method: Geographic3D to GravityRelatedHeight (ISG)
Area of use: Japan - onshore and offshore.
