Revision date: 2026-04-21
Scope: Geodesy, cadastre, engineering survey, topographic mapping.
Remarks: JGD2024 (vertical) is a gravimetric geoid-based vertical datum using the "Geoid 2024 Japan and Surrounding Area" model (JPGEO2024). This model is the JGEOID2024 model with an offset of 0.1366m applied to match MSL of Tokyo Bay at the Aburatsubo tide gauge. The datum uses a height reference epoch of 2024.415 (1st June 2024). Replaces JGD2011 (vertical) (datum code 1131) with effect from 1st April 2025.
Area of use: Japan - onshore and offshore.
